True dimensions (interior) 12.5" length x 10.75" width x 4.75" height. The bottom is not flat, it has a flat raised rectangle 1/4" high centered 1" away from all sides; for whatever idiotic reason.
The interior dimensions I needed were 14.5" length x 12.5" width x 2" height; well within the advertised 16.8" length x 13.3" width x 5.3" height. Had the manufacturer provided explained the sides taper by more than 1" (a total of 1.5") and the ends have curved handles adding about 2.5" to that dimension I could have immediately concluded this item fails to meet my length and width specifications.
Nothing is physically improper with the box or lid, excluding the raised bottom rectangle.
Ordered on Wednesday, the 9th of May, via UPS, the product arrived by USPS on Tuesday, 22 May. To reduce costs, I presume, UPS transferred custody not to their regional UPS hub, but rather to to my regional post office...in the same city. Future customers should expect similar delivery techniques.
People ordering via this source should expect the item to ship from Syracuse, New York and take much longer than the cited 2-3 days extra processing required, totaling approximately two weeks for delivery. Shipping costs were very low, under $4. Just be aware of a longer than expected delivery period.
